Flood and Sewage Clean-Up

We provide comprehensive flood and sewage cleaning services for businesses and homeowners. Our specialist services include the flood clean-up and waste removal, as well as any cleaning, decontamination, and drying that may be required.

Specialist Cleaning Limited offer flood and sewage clean-up as a 24/7 emergency response service, because we understand the devastating impact these problems can have on homes and businesses.

  • Our reactive flood clean-up services can make a real difference in reducing secondary damage. We will provide clear, direct communication about our course of action and set to work to remove any remaining water, before then deep cleaning and decontaminating the area.

  • Flooding can occur in many settings including commercial and retail properties, toilets, changing rooms, public houses and private homes.

Often flooding is considered to be a mass overflowing wave of water from a river during high rainfall, but it can often be caused by backed-up sewage systems, overflowing toilets or other breakdowns.

Lesser volumes of water can still have a dramatic affect on properties. Be that private homes or retail premises, the impact and damage caused without swift action can be significant, whilst also affecting trading ability.

  • All standing water must be considered to be a health hazard, through either the risk of accidents, or contamination.

Sewage can, and very often does, become mixed with flood water, even if this isn’t from an immediate sewage back-flow. Flowing water collects debris, silt, waste (including animal and human) and all manner of other hazards. This harbours a multitude of bacteria which must, once cleared up, be cleaned and disinfected to the highest standards.

If simply mopped or vacuumed up, biohazards will likely remain, and continue to pose a risk of illness for either family members and pets, or clients and staff.

  • Category 1 - Clean water

Originates from a sanitary water source (usually a water tank or kitchen/bathroom furniture) and does not pose a substantial risk from dermal, ingestion or inhalation exposure. Standing water is a breeding ground for bacteria which can be hazardous to health. It can, of course, cause damage to property floors and furnishings.

    Category 2 - Grey water

Contains significant contamination such as micro-organisms and has the potential to cause discomfort or sickness if contacted or consumed. This is the most common category of flood water within a household or business.

    Category 3 - Black water

Grossly contaminated water and can contain pathogenic, toxigenic, or other harmful agents. This can cause significant adverse reactions to humans if contacted or consumed. Often accompanied by an unpleasant odour, this category of water is highly unsanitary and poses a credible risk to human health. The greatest care must be taken during the clean-up process and always complimented by thorough disinfection.
