2024 - a year of Specialist Cleaning
It has been quite a year for us as a team, with a busy start to 2024 we saw a rapid growth in demand for our services.
You might not realise that there is a significant and often unrecognised need for professional crime scene cleaning, and this demand could potentially increase even more in the future. Many individuals are simply unaware that specialist cleaning assistance is readily available for important tasks such as crime scene cleaning, trauma cleaning, or extreme cleaning, which encompasses various difficult situations including hoarding, flood, and sewage clean-up. We are dedicated to raising awareness about these crucial services so that no one has to face these challenging and distressing situations alone.
That’s precisely why we are here, to provide support and expertise when it is most needed.
We have attended all manner of ‘crime scenes’ from medical incidents through to sudden deaths, suicides. Our team have embraced the need to deliver our specialist cleaning services with absolute commitment to achieving the highest possible standards.
We provide specialist cleaning services in homes prior to hospital discharge, often dealing with homes, or areas within a home, that haven't been cleaned in 10-20 years and have human waste hazards. Our hoarding clearance services have received a high volume of calls. Despite this demand, we have consistently helped to make improvements to peoples lives through our work.
The Headlines:
Our team have worked 23, 25 and 27 hour days to ensure we are able to complete work required when it is needed, where it is needed and how it is needed.
We have worked from Sheffield to Southampton, Swansea to Norwich and everywhere in between… we have travelled 33,000 miles to deliver our services. Along the way we have received fantastic feedback from our clients, listened to some fascinating stories and got to know clients better.
We have attended 229 requests in 2024 with these ranging from 2 hours to 5 days in duration. From crime scenes and trauma cleaning through to extreme cleaning of excessively dirty homes and hoarded properties, clearance of homes following a bereavement and sewage floods. With many of our projects taking more than one day, the number seems quite low, but to ensure we are able to help as many clients as possible we have worked long days and often 7 days a week.
We have gained an IICRC-certified Water Restoration Technician qualification, trained to the highest standard in flood clean-up and property drying. This is a service we have seen sky rocket with multiple requests for our services across the country to manage the cleanup of domestic and commercial flooding and sewage cleanup.
Our team has responded promptly to numerous emergency cleaning scenarios, including trauma and crime scene clean-ups. Our trained specialists have successfully managed several cases involving bereavement cleaning, allowing families to focus on their healing process while we handle the restoration of their environments.
This year, we have also expanded our services to further address situations that extend beyond traditional cleaning needs. Our dedication to safety and hygiene has allowed us to assist in environments affected by hazardous materials, bodily fluids and sharps. Always ensuring that spaces are returned to a safe and usable condition.
Our community outreach initiatives such as providing funding for Christmas charity events, football club sponsorship and providing our services at no charge on occasion, have seen us collaborating with local support organisations. By offering our expertise, we have facilitated awareness about the importance of professional cleaning in crisis situations. These initiatives have empowered individuals to understand the resources available to them, and how to seek help when needed.
The feedback we have received from our clients reflects the positive impact we have made this year. Many have expressed gratitude for our sensitive handling of their unique circumstances, and for our commitment to restoring not just physical spaces, but also a sense of safety and normalcy in their lives.
As we look back on 2024, we are proud of every aspect of our work at Specialist Cleaning Limited. Our focus on professionalism and empathy has allowed us to help countless individuals navigate through challenging times, reinforcing the vital role our services play in the community.
We have seen our team approached by production companies wishing to know more about our work and share insights on TV (we have not engaged further than a conversation at this stage but who knows what the next year will bring).
Our Management Team organises the Extreme Cleaning Professional Network, a collaborative space where talented peers from the extreme cleaning industry come together to engage in meaningful discussions about best practices, innovative approaches to various tasks, and the comprehensive methodology behind our ongoing commitment to the continuous provision of the extensive CPD-accredited training that we have undertaken.
Throughout the year our small team have not wavered and have meticulously provided biohazard and extreme cleaning services with the greatest dedication. Often turning back the clock and removing the trauma of medical incidents, serious injuries and challenging environments.
Changing our name from Empire Environmental Limited to Specialist Cleaning Limited has been a significant and considerable task that involved many steps and considerations. We wanted our new name to clearly and effectively reflect the extensive range of services we provide. This change not only simplifies the process for potential clients to recognize our offerings but also makes it much easier for people to understand that we deliver specialist cleaning services, setting us distinctly apart from regular cleaning companies that do not focus on biohazard cleaning and extreme cleaning situations.
